What's a good set of elbow pads?
« on: May 12, 2008, 10:00 PM »

Seeing as two of the regulars of the Scottish OSSS have tried to stop me coming last by wiping out and trying to break their bones, and in KennyHunters case succeeding, I thought it a good idea to invest in some elbox pads. The sort that cover the forearm as well.

Can you guys recommend any make and suppliers that are good value?

Cheers

P.

Heard a few people recommend brand-x body armour, and have seen a few people test it aswell :LolLolLolLol: think you can get it from chainreaction.

I used it extensively at the weekend and would highly recomend it.

As Gary said buy Brand-X from Chain Reaction Cycles. Only £60 as well.

What's the full body armour like to ride in. Isn't it restrictive, hot etc?

it feels a bit bulky at first but after 5 mins i hardly notice its there.

Ive got a Dainese inner jacket that i wear under a race shirt - its like a string vest with pads on - its very comfy and does the job no problem

and after flipping over the bars on sunday and landing on my back sliding for a foot or so - i can confirm it works bloody well!

I wouldn't be at work today if i hadnt been wearing it thats for sure....

Thanks guys. I was just looking for elbow pads but I'm tempted to go for the full works.

Crooch - where did you get your inner jacket from. I've had a look at a few sites and they list Evo or impact jackets. Is that what you have?

Zippy - Does the x-brand have any spine protection?

Thanks again  :daumenhoch:

Its an Evo - i got it new of fleabay for £100 (MRP £200) and its worth every penny - i know you can get cheaper but i dont think you can get better!

I layed out a lot for my protection but i personally dont feel you can put a price on it....

Ive got full Leg Race Face Protectors on under my race pants as well....

Thinks to myself "should I wear pants outside of race pants...naaahhhh"
