S&M Dirtbike
« on: May 12, 2008, 01:11 PM »
Hi all...  The sun is out, so I decided to start building my Dirt Bike.

I'm planning to hang on my office wall.  I started riding in 1992 and I've always like the ratty look from the Dirt Bros style right up to the Gonz in the later 90's.  I've kept this build in keeping with that era and image.  Love it or hate it, that's S&M for ya.

I've got the pedals, I just need to switch spindles.... and I've also got the crank bolts but couldn't find them.  They are around somewhere.

Here's old and new side by side.....

Here's a pic from Ride.  It's a later Dirt Bike, with DX's, blue slams and I'm pretty sure that the same GT tyre on there.

Yo, nah these are not slams.  I did get some 'slams' in chrome off ebay.  They arrived and were too small for slams, although the shape was spot on.  He swore blind they were slams, so what can you do.  I think he believed they were genuine, so it was a weird position to be in.  Anyway, I had these bars, which are 8inch rise and look a lot more proper.  I'll probably get slams before long.   Breathe now....  essay or what!

I know what you mean, looking at all the separate parts on the floor it looked as if it would be a ratty build, but yeah... turned out cleanish. haha  The pedals are yellow though.
