the seat wouldnt be too hard , get a crap plastic seat and fold the alloy over it , dress the edge back with a small hammer . maybe even bolt straight to through the top into a seatpost

to reallllly wind up mates

http://www.powercranks.com/

but very very pricey

white industries do some nice cranks , but might not fit the stylee . ill have a think

where abouts are you harris ?

are you wanting to keep the thick rust off it but have a tarnihed finish ? i wipe mine with gt85 on a scourer about once a month , its going nice and dark

i take it your familiar with the tioga seat ?

im sure they do it white too , maybe it could be dyed ?

how about profiles , id be tempted to drill them between the spline and pedal end and weld in tubes , id say there would be no loss in strength as the tubes will add to the torsional rigidity . plus they will tarnish with the frame

years ago i had some primos in black that i half rubbed down , they would suit it well

or how about some primos with the logo sanded off and engraved

flames are overdone but scallops always look good , or many many overlapping s&m shield logos

I have a blue one of these:_

its made of hard plastic so should take a coat of paint or panel beat some alloy to it and pop rivet it on?

 :) DINGO :)

i do like a selle italia , my beater standard has my slr on it at the moment  ;D

id be tempted to cut the entre out and rivet in a sheet of copper ( find a tube big enough in diameter , cut along and manipulate flat )

i like the xlite posts too  :)

joey are you bodging a caliper on or are you subjecting people to the joys of the foot in the rear tyre  :P

yeh man,

i'd really like middleburns but they always seem to bid high :-[

rightfully so

middleburns are ace

my mate gave me mine  :P they were kicking around his workshop

im halfway through polishing mine but have lost the lockring  :-[ mines a compact 5 arm but ill be getting a 4 arm so i can swap rings between my other bikes

i suggest an fsa ultimax bottom bracket , ti axle in a carbon shell and decently cheap on the bay  :)

are they wondercup 2s , the originals put the mtb bottom bracket out further a few mm , the 2s are recessed so the bb sits in the same place it would if the frame had the correct shell

middleburn also do a dh spider thats reet nice and will put the ring closer in  :)

if you dont mind mtb cranks on it look for some grafton or kooka , damn retro cool  8)

watching father ted at the mo and its the one where ted dnts the car and chases it around the car  ;D

a hammered finish would be another though , maybe on the stem/cranks/seatpost etc

http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://lh3.google.com/_4vyDUqUrsbw/RT-mtarXABI/AAAAAAAAAYQ/sEOUvUID5lo/s800/IMG_1151.jpg&imgrefurl=http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/-k24GK_bH7ugeWrFSioH4Q&h=800&w=600&sz=103&hl=en&start=31&um=1&tbnid=zEJlL1ZnC0f1XM:&tbnh=143&tbnw=107&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dhammered%2Bfinish%2B%26start%3D18%26ndsp%3D18%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN

id wail on it with a ball pin hammer and then sand the harsh edges off . if its a painted item a nice effect could be made with hammering and sanding  :)

zed your seat reminds me of the time a few of us decided to "recover" a mates primo seat while he was drunk ( he was always drunk , we messed with him on a daily basis  ;D )

we had found some rag on the garage floor to "cover" it but when i was putting the top back on i lost all but one of the screws that held it on  :2funny:

just walked away  :2funny:

i could also take his bars off and put them on the wrong way in a matter of mins , even putting the lever on the correct side  ;D, he spent a day riding it like that because no matter how many times he spun the bars around he couldnt work it out  :2funny:
