If you only want a pee pot style one for the night then creation will let you borrow one of theirs...but if you want to buy one i bought a BELL Fraction one for about £15.......nice and comfy and do the job  :daumenhoch:

although if you think you may fall flat on your face then a full face is obvioulsy better (mine has saved mine on many occasions) but you can pick up a cheap Diamond back one off ebay for about £20 which will do a novice no problem.....i wouldn't want to do the X games in one but they're fine for wobbling about in.

Like to keep the oldskool look. New lids (full or potty) just don't do it for me (too modern!)

i use a protec, might be called a B1, not sure, it's the green one and snowboard specific, but i just take the ear pads out for BMX so it's
multipurpose.

Bell Moto 4 for full face (Best looking full face helmet ever made) I M O but difficult to track down as no longer made.

Bell Mag 4 for open face

Now I know everyone now rides with "Piss Pots" nowadays but to me it's just not BMX it's skateboarding.

At the end of the day if you have a 10 quid head buy a 10 quid helmet.

i love the look at that bell tony hawk, how much are they? i also love the look of full face but i dont like the inability to have limited periferal vision, sooner have no helmet realy, as its what i am use too, but thought better play safe... :daumenhoch:

I use a "piss pot" at creation.... Defo not compulsary....

I've seen a far few accidents recently where a full face would've helped- Trev in the Bowl at Corby with a Candle stick being a good example.

As my confidence grows and I start to do "silly" things (read get higher on the vert) I intend to get a full face...

My ambition for the end of May is to get out of the vert and drop in at creation... as I am fed up of watchin Ian and Karl at the top.

Wear a pisspot wherever you would normally not use a lid at all, if it makes you feel better.......  But if you're serious about vert riding, no matter how low you are carving round the ramp, go and get a good fullface lid and start wearing it straight away. It'll help with your confidence and wearing it from the get go means you'll soon only ride with it on as riding vert without a lid feels weird as fook.

Just remember that if you wear a pisspot lid and you take a good hit to the back of side of the head, then it's lights out. Those things are only good for protecting you from falling objects like small rocks and parachutes....... oh, and skateboards.
