Like that a lot...I'm leaning more to rider/survivor builds...Looks like it's been raced hard and ready for more... ;)
Lil' lever sleeve is cool too.

Cant really tell from the pics, us or euro bottom bracket?

US b/b from memory, yup skinny down tube serial is something like 1222283 and got the 3 stamp for expert so not too early, the one on the jnr looks even skinnier  got a skinny down tubed 81 pro dimensions but with bsc b/b  :-\  hmmmm I started to catalogue my vinyl once and got bored this was when I was working in accountancy!)

That isn't an Expert frame, it is a Junior (or Mini). The Experts had the same size down tube as the pro, but very similar geometry to the Pro. The Junior (or Mini) has the skinny down tube, and was available with the US or Euro bottom bracket. Pro's are stamped 4, Experts are stamped 2, and Juniors were stamped JR as far as I know. My 1981 Junior isn't stamped with anything, other than the serial number. Those wheels look really nice on it!

A number two you say to the left of the serial on the dropout, hmm tis expert after all   ;)

I have a junior which is stamped jr yes my pro is stamped with a 4 and my cruiser has a 24 and the 26 had a 26.  The downtube on my junior is super skinny, standard GT decals would wrap around had to get custom ones made  :D

Your 26 has 26? I've never seen that. My 26 only has the serial.

My 24 has the serial, and a 4. I've been told the junior 24 has a 2, but I have never seen a junior 24 before (though I have never seen one)

:LolLolLolLol:  yup GT where consistent with the rest of the industry, ended up outsourcing a lot of the welding/assembly etc o/seas so you see stamps in different places with different logic in the serial, some guy on OS I think it was tried to pin them all down but got lost about halfway through the various letter prefixes on the mid 80's uns  :LolLolLolLol:
