My brakes are poo...

'Ere, whaddyareckon..?!?

Brakes are MX copies and I have used pads that came with the brakes and some skyway tuff-pad copies.  Both are crap.

Problem comes from the angle the pads sit at compared to the slope/ chamfer of the rim braking surfaces; i.e. they don't meet flush.

The wheels are mid/ new-ish school unbranded alloys (48s).

Are newer wheels made with a different surface chamfer for U/ V brakes?

Any sneaky ways to get the pads to align properly (I don't want to bend the brake pad holding loops!!)?

There is the slimmest bit of brake edge touching the rim at the minute and it does sod all to arrest my meagre speed and limits my already crap endo-skills.

Please help Radders!!

(I've got photobucket  instructions [again] and will post pics of my build that I finished ages ago   :(  )

ya could try newere type blocks with the angled bits so the blocks sit better
or a 8 mm spanner and bend the brakes like i do lol

Brakes made off poo are notoriousely sh*t.  Get some made of some kind of metal and they should work much better.

bending the brakes to get a good contact needs to be done, also the cable will need to be stretched, keep pullin the lever full on and taking up the slack, tuff copies usually work good but dont last long
