Preston OS Racing - Riders List for Sunday 4th May

Chris, unless someone turns up with a skinwall I'll have it off you. As much as I don't like the all black low psi things, beggars can't be choosers. Guess I'll have to get one for the back as well.

Just off the phone to Kenny S.  If no-one has an OS bike already built up which he could borrow for Sunday, he'll just be racing newschool.  He can't be arsed building a bike up on Sunday, then stripping it down.  Not to worry, let's hope the weather is kind to us.

At coppull 2 motos would be a ball ache.

3 motos at Preston would not be a problem.

Finish line is next to start gate.   A quick nip around the back and hey presto you've got a bike to ride.

The only drawback to that plan is........................

............At coppull there were 3 gates and 3 motos for each but it was random riders in each moto.  You weren't racing the same guys for each moto (like we did in Bradford).

If Preston runs the same way you can't guarantee which OS Gate your in for each of the three motos.   

Moto 1 = 1st OS Gate
Moto 2 = 3rd OS Gate
Moto 3 = 1st OS Gate.

For someone else it might be

Moto 1 = 3rd OS Gate
Moto 2 = 1st OS Gate
Moto 3 = 2nd OS Gate

They mixed everyone up at Coppull so everyone was racing everybody else in the Motos so that you could go straight to the Final and eliminate the need for the Semi's

That way if the 1st OS Gate had all the best riders and the 2nd OS Gate had all the worst riders then the Finals wouldn't be made up of half of the best riders and half of the worst riders. 

The Finals are based on your positions over the 3 motos racing all the other riders.  So the best riders should get through to the A finals and worst riders through to the B Final.

Which is very good because it makes both finals very competitive.

We'll have to wait and see if Preston do the same with 3 OS Gates.

I have been to preston gate practice today and the preston pirates crew ( flemdog ) have got the track running as sweet as a nut, there was a bit of a wind but lovely and warm . Lets hope for more of the same tomorrow.
