Front Page Restructure

How about a complete overhaul of the front page to this site. I don't really pay any attention to it as it's the same all the time. You have links to featured members, bike of the 2005  and the same few random pics from about 3-4 years ago. Also the opening message could take up less space without losing any content.

I think you could utilise the space on there a bit better. Use it to advertise the current T-shirts up for sale, RAD Events like MK08, Private Skatepark sessions, upcoming Race meetings, Skatepark Jams etc.

to be honest Trev.......i never look at it!  my favourites setting for Rad takes me straight into the Forum page so any meets or events listed there i would miss.......don't know if others have theirs set in the same way?

you only do that because there is nothing worth seeing on the front page. my point exactly. it is wasted space that could be used more effectively.

a year or so back it was going to be restructured, and there was a post put up asking for suggestions, pics to be sent in to be included on the page, and basically what people wanted

no one put any input in at all, so it just got left alone

i think the part about how RAD came about and a few piccies is good enough........as i said i don't think many (if any) ever really look at it? 

a running banner instead of a shoutbox would be great......plus having an events section that can only be added to through the Mods would be good, so it doesn't get cloged up with small talk.....people would be able to reply to threads but would need to go through the Mods to post a new topic.

I agree with rob, the shoutbox is fun, but ive noticed that if a member shouts, it stays there for ages, if not till the next day, a banner would be good, so event's dont get overlooked ,

if you knew there would be useful information on it, i'm sure you'd look at it.
as an incentive, we'll removed the old pics and replace them with pics of mrs madall, mrs dhillon & mrs bananaman. although it may stop people getting past that page though...

i know that. but why did you choose to bookmark the forum and not the front page? the answer is becuase there is nothing worth looking at on the front page once you've seen it once. if there was, maybe you'd bookmark the front page instead.

That rolling text stuff completely kills my mac and my PC. I can understand it with the mac as it's about 8 years old but the PC is pretty new and has plenty RAM and a decent gfx card. :-/
