fitting twin pinch flights
« on: April 21, 2008, 09:38 PM »
have put bearings in slotted axle in place put arms on with washers in place and tightened up but arms won't spin freely
what have i done wrong must admit i didn't put the collar/shim/sheef over the axle between the bearings but i don't see how this would affect the spinning
but i'm no expert
which is why i'm asking you guys

If the arms are pulling in on the bearings then yes not having the shim on the axle will cause them to stop spinning as you have effectively squeezed the bearings together  :-\.  Back them off a touch and retighten the pinch bolts and see if that makes a difference  :daumenhoch:.
