can the chrome plate come off diy or does it have to go through a sandblaster?? ???

To do it properly it needs to go to a chromers and ask them to remove it.  My chromers does the job for about £7.  Chrome plate will not come off DIY or by media blasting.  However media blasting will give the chrome a good base for powdercoating.
