PEREGRINE BUILD - FINISHED
« on: April 07, 2008, 04:21 PM »
This has taken a few months to source parts and after half building it once I decided the first frame I got was no good had to find another... So this came up on ebay about a few days later whist I was still sulking! what luck!

I tried to recreate the Expert in the '87/88 Magazine Adverts

I'm not a great fan of the blue so opted to go "Candy" Blue (transluscent to the anal among you), obviously no decal sets are available so I had to recreate a set or 3, I did 3 runs of them until I was happy.

In the meantime all the Peregrine parts were being sourced..

the hardest from my point of view were getting the right levers, but I got some Peregrine One-Stops on the ebay bike but they were completely scratched/chipped so set about restoring them, stripped, filled, re-painted and hardware replaced or cleaned up and new logo's applied then laquered.. they look great!

Anyway.,.. here she is finished:-

Parts List:-
Peregrine Expert Frame & Forks (restored)
Peregrine Q Bars (restored)
Peregrine Grips (NOS)
Peregrine Cranks (re-chromed)
Peregrine Chainwheel (restored)
Peregrine FSX-111 Brakes (NOS)
Peregrine One Stop Levers (restored)
Peregrine Seat (Minty used)
Peregrine Seat Clamp (NOS)
Peregrine Twister Rotor (restored)
Peregrine HP48's Rims and Hubs (NOS)
Peregrine HP48 Tyres (NOS)
Anlun Freestyle Stem (restored)
Shimano SX Pedals (NOS)

Thanks to the many Radsters on here who helped me source some of the bits for this build, this post is long enough so I wont list you all but you know who you are!

When I scrolled down to the ad scan I thought to myself those grips and brakes will be HARD to find!

....then I scrolled down some more!!

That looks fantastic! A rare bird indeed! I love seeing something a bit different!

Fantastic!  :daumenhoch:
