Removing a stck stem

Git a stem stuck in a set of forks. Cant shift em for love nor money. Anyone got ant ideas?

I had this problem once and I sprayed loads of penetrating oil down the fork stem and left to soak.   Then I clamped a metal bar in the stem where you would mount a set of bars and twisted it.

yeah tried that but i think the stem has now loosened from the clamp cos there is a little omvement but the quill doesnt seem to be moving :-[ probablt have to do a bit of drastic hammering up the steerer. :knuppel2:

soak it in diesel for a few days

yeah kinda new to me too , i heard about it as a fella had a piston siezed in a block , pour some down the plug hole , leave for a while and it frees it off

Diesel does work well.

IMPORTANT NOTE

When soaking any stuck object in diesel, please make sure that you are doing it in a small enclosed room whilst smoking a cigarette. *

you should do everything with a cig , a can of stella and all your mates egging you on  ;D

ive seen the result of burning diesel , not nice , be carefull out there  :)
