Howdee, i own an 85 cali mongoose and id like to know the actual size of bb i require , is it 28 or something like that ?
Any help would be mucho appreciated.

you will need a 24 mate
and 28 was for early gooses  :daumenhoch:

The 24/28 refers to the number of threads per inch that the crank has, Mongoose cranks are generally 28tpi and Takagi/Sugino are usually 24tpi although some Takagi are also 28tpi but it should be stamped on the crank to show which it is.  BB size shoudl be US  :daumenhoch:.
