Removing brake block marks from Tuffs
« on: March 31, 2008, 07:49 PM »
Nearly finished my Ammaco resto and about to fit on my green tuffs but after a closer inspection (they have been in storage for months), they have quite a few brake block marks on them, some quite dark. Is there any easy way of removing these? Thanks in advance,

Matt  :daumenhoch:

I'd suggest a bit of really fine sandpaper and then buff up afterwards.

what about wiping them with thinners, would it attack the plastic?

mount the wheel, (fnar) spin it, use a stanley blade as a lathe tool.

THE BEST THING TO REMOVE BRAKE BLOCK MARKS FROM TUFFS IS WITH FINE WET AND DRY PAPER DIPPED IN A SOLUTION OF WASHING UP LIQUID AND WATER ;)   YOU CAN ALSO APPLY THE SAME METHOD FOR MARKS ELSEWHERE ON THE WHEELS  :daumenhoch:
