vintage Webco score, info needed.
« on: March 26, 2008, 05:43 PM »
Last week i saw a sidehack for sale on internet.
I recogniced the frame, a old Webco.
A Webco was still on my wanted list because when I started racing, there were a lot of such Webco's around.
I asked the owner if he could post it, just the frame.
After some emails I had a deal and today it arrived.
Never thought it was so a light frame.
Now I want to know more about this frame.
Serial number under the BB 110888
Oval hole in the front gussets (like i remember bitd).
Square brakebridge (never had a brake mounted).
The decals say it's a Expert.
There are holes in the dropouts.
First I thought it was drilled to attach the sidehack.
But on both dropouts are the exact same holes and with white paint inside the holes.
Could those be orginal?
What years did they made such frames?
I'm so glad with this score and hope that I can get that squared Webco fork from a old friend (he didn't want to sell 2 years ago).
BTW in what colors did they came?

Someone on here was trying to off load a webco on here a few weeks ago without much luck, trying the search function and highlight FOR SALE, he might still have it.

Rick (Reilley) should be your man on this one, he loves real old school rides and hacks so this should be right up his street  :daumenhoch:.  I'd drop him a PM if I were you to make sure he doesn't miss this thread  ;).

Better to crash and burn than fade away
