Bof. love the picture on your profile. Damned used to be my fave band. Was not old enough to go to gigs, until I saw them At Hammersmith in 1984, when I got a bus up town strait after my History O level.

LOL - I'm pretty sure Mike was talking tongue in cheek!

Also a bit of pre-season banter no doubt...

I'll do him for ya all at the brits - not doing nationals so you'll have to wait til then Mike. Unless you're brave enough to come darn sarff. ;)

(See that was tongue in cheek too - I'll be on the 2nd straight when he crosses the finish line - If I'm lucky! )

54 TOMORROW!!

Neither I do the London/Brighton BHF Charity ride with my good old team from Volkswagen UK and try to raise loads of money for the the 'Olde Heart Club'.

The Matlock Hill 54 TOMORROW!!

Killer for the same charity.

A big Geth Shooter fan and also DH.

Just enjoy this sport so much I cannot get shake it off even after 15 years in it, more with Simon (Son) than me.

If I am here I will get a license and look forward to seeing those in the C OR D final, because from what I am reading here and on the other sites it MAY (Prove me wrong??) a very FULL and interesting class?

Cheers,

Paul.

Hey Guys I have just  read Roongas reply and Hey we are far and way from the mark here.

'Freak' is what I am replying to not Mikes riding or racing ability.

Race fair and square bit of rivalry NO problem but we are all gents at this age 40+.

I still think this class 'MAY' be the talking point of 2008 from a purely BMX genuine racing outlook???

Take that as you like guys!

Once again,

Cheers,

Paul.

40 year old men that should know better, going through mid life crisis's, trying to be like the young uns. With all the enthusiasm and non of the skills.
Its going to be a rimmingly good 2008 season
Michael Sir, cough... 8)

...keep your stinky rimmers to your self and furthermore get that greyin' ass of yours down to Preston more, your missing out on all the fun! :)

some of the wife's friends asked her if I was having a midlfie crisis at 36, getting into snowboarding and bmx.

the wife replied: it could be worse he could spend all his time in the pub (like some of their husbands)

it's great to have a (semi) understanding wife, even if she can't grasp that i need 3 bikes and I'm building two more.  :LolLolLolLol:
she has however said in no uncertain terms that I am NOT trying street luge.  :LolLolLolLol:

first time I rode my new school ride, in a concrete skate park, in the wet, on my own really early on sunday morning i had a complete blast. no skills, no tricks, just grins. for me that's what it's about, i know I'll never to taps and whips or drop in a vert ramp, but i don;t care, I enjoy what i can do.

ThIs statement I beg to differ?

40 year old men that should know better, going through mid life crisis's, trying to be like the young uns. With all the enthusiasm and non of the skills

Why with the respect you have obviously got Mike would you rock a boat that you are part of now with 'remarks' like this?

Utter respect to you for your training and fitness and of course your skills on a bike (they go without saying) but the 'Mid Life Crisis'?? Hey I have been through this ten  times over BUT who gives a S**T because at the end of the day of the Kelvin, Laurence, Tuffs, Of course Liam P (Sorry Pete)  et AL they are the future of BMX racing in the UK, what ever any body thinks? and whether the 40 + dreamers are there or not, they are enjoying it it 150%.

40+ all you guys get stuck in Kev R, Tony Slater etc etc keep on trucking boys because as UB says 'Keep It Real' you know what i mean ( Flats do rule).

No detriment at all to you Mike because I have seen you race and win. (Utter Respect for a 40 year old)'

This problem I have is that you get to 39 and HEY your gone, dead, forgotten B*****ks you do what you gotta do whatever it takes to enjoy your life, even if it means riding a kids bike with bigger wheels at what ever age!!! Billy Fieldhouse  a prime example at 50+ I rest my case, the guys enthusiasm for this sport is beyond any figure, even by a millionaires standards.

I am expecting a lot of flack from this, but I am a big boy now living in the real world with a grand daughter.

Cheers for your time guys,

Paul.

Hey Paul, whoever you are, the thread was meant tongue in cheek pal. Always had enough respect for people whatever there age ability to ride a bmx bike. Best thing for me is beating kids 20+ years younger than me and still having more balls than them over the jumps.
Mid life crisis,,, yeah been having them since i was 20.
Even Flem was aroused by this thread cant be a bad thing. Why is he trying to clean his tyres whilst in the air though? Oh yeah i think your more grey than me now Flemasaurus!!!!
