BMX News Magazines on EBAY Soon, probably
« on: March 11, 2008, 10:02 PM »
I have been in contact with some chap who has a good collection of BMX Magazines.

He has the first 15 issues of BMX News, 17 issues of BMX Weekly volume 1 and 33 Issues of BMX Weekly volume 2.

Plus he has about 10 magazine that I wanted to add to collection.

He asked me to make an offer so I did.

Anyway he has replied saying he is going to put the first 15 editions of BMX News Magazine on ebay with a starting price of £9.99 each.

What do you think, too cheap or way too expensive?

I know I have gone crazy buying mags in the past but that is too rich for my blood.

I would really like to have them to scan but not at that price.

So if any RADBMX member decides to buy these mags when they appear on EBAY.  Please, Please let me borrow them for a week or two so that I can scan them in.

It will be interesting to see who buys them, if they sell with a high starting price or £9.99.

So what do you lad think?

Yeah but they were only going mental because I was bidding on them.

All the magazines I didn't bid on were going quite cheap.

Its only when Deckard and me start getting into a bidding war.

I know nothing about these magazines, well they weren't even magazines they were newspapers.

Any body here remember them?

Anybody here reckon £9.99 is good starting price on ebay?

I can't start collecting BMX News.

If I own 1 copy of BMX News, my OCD would kick in and I'd have to start collecting the rest.

It could be very expensive indeed.

I Would love to have them though.

This chap has these magazines

BMX News (Weekly Edition) number 1 (April 24 1981) to number 15 (Friday July 31 1981)
BMX Weekly Volume 1 Number 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 (partial), 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20 (Missing Issues 5, 17, 18 and 21 Onwards)
BMX Weekly Volume 2 Number 1 - 9, 11 - 16, 18 - 24, 29 - 31, 34, 35, 37, 39, 43 - 45 and 48 (Missing Issues 10, 17, 25-28, 32, 33, 36, 38, 40-42, 46 and 47)

He did have a few more that I wanted to buy.  BMX Racer & Freestyle, BI-Weekly's etc, etc but he told me he wasn't allowed to sell them and then when I made him an offer he had sold them for less than what I offered.

I'm not sure whether he was 100% genuine or not.

I bought a Freestyle BMX Volume 1 Issue 8 of him on ebay (kdw712 has already scanned it in) to add to my collection so time will tell.

His name is Tom Graham and he said he was heavily involved to BMX BITD.

Anyone heard of him?

I made this guy an offer which he sort of accepted, then he changed his mind because he thought the magazines were in worse condition than he realised and that he'd be ripping me off.

The Next thing he emails me and calls it off and puts 2 of them up on ebay.

I'm not going to bid on them.

I hate being felt up and not taken all the way.   The tease!!!!

Hopefully, somebody on this forum will buy them and get them scanned.

There up on ebay with a lower than expected starting price. Down from £9.99 which he first told me to £5.00 which is more reasonable.

Get bidding chaps.

He has 15 issues of BMX News, which is a complete set.  And if these 2 sell, he said he'd put the rest up.

Mayfair Magazine Volume 6 No.12

I think this issue was produced in 1971. It is in good overall condition. There is a small 2 inch tear just under the words Anniversary issue on the front cover and some small damp marks at the bottom of the first few pages (no bigger than a 50p piece)

Thanks for looking and good luck if you decide to bid.

This is one of his other magazine listings Im not so sure about the damp spots though uuuurrrgggghhh!!!!!
