Did Schwinn market the Sting in the UK?

In the US, the Sting was the high end bike no one but the "rich kids" or serious racers could afford.
They weren't just hype but extremely detailed engineering work which made them mouth watering even to an 11 yr old boy.
At the turn of the 80s weight was everything and there were unofficial reports of kids that had Stings down to the 19 pound range.

1979 Schwinn Sting weighing in at 21.5 pounds (took that 11 yr old boy another 27 years to actually get one. he he he)

gregory hill raced for them before moving to GT i think, had he have stayed on im sure they would have graced our shores in bigger numbers, i kinda wanted either a sting, a gt or a powerlite for a short while BITD but gregs own GHP came out and it was game over for the rest
