Rechroming/powder coating process ????
« on: March 03, 2008, 03:45 PM »
Few questions about it.

I recently purchased a late 80's BMX that may require a little bit of work to the frame and forks. Will know for sure when the said bike arrives but i'm just putting the feelers out for now.

At the moment it is chrome but there are 3 or 4 bits on the frame that have worn away. There is no rust or no flaking of the chrome.

What are my options obviously trying to keep this as cheap as possible ??????

Can the chrome be touched up ??
Can the chrome be removed and rechromed ??
or can the chromed be removed and the F+F be powder coated ???

I think i prefer option 3 with the F+F being done in a nice sort of white colour.

You guys have had this done loads of times so which option would you go for and what sort of price would i be expected to pay??

Cheers for any help.
