This is Old school racing so the bikes should be in the spirit of Old school, 1" headsets, caliper brakes, old school components as much as possible.

A few entries last year pushed the boundries with new school brakes, wheels and tyres, if thats what you want to do then race new school, dont kill the OSS by diluting it with new school parts please :daumenhoch:

im moving up to braintree from woodford anytime now so was gonna join braintree club with my boy rather than dagenham
although im kinda thinking there race meets wont be the same as these does that matter ?
im gonna just do the old skool and my boy is 13 so he will do that age group
do we need to join a club ?
can we just apply for race licences ?

hope you can point me in the right direction here  :D

Hi Ian, its always good to support your local club, you will find that braintree is in the E.A. region and not in the South region, Im not sure if there will be seperate races in your region this summer, you might be better logging into the Braintree bullets website to see what they have planned :daumenhoch:

You and your boy wont need licences to start with especially if you race novice to start with. It will be worth you joining Braintree club as you qualify for a free BCF bronze licence, if you attend a race at Braintree go to the registeration office and speak to Julie about joining :daumenhoch:

Does anyone have the National dates and where they are. I heard a rumor that they were predominantly up north this year.

Also is anyone planning on racing at all the nationals this year?

A packed season this is going to be and my busiest by far. Between the end of March and the end of September I only have 9 race free weekends once you've squeezed in the Nationals, regionals and club races. Glad I don't race during the winter season, gives me time to recuperate and make it up to the wife. :LolLolLolLol:

Looks like a good season you guys got lined up.  May the best man win.  Might try to squeeze a few OS races in if I get time between regionals and nationals.

Chris, hopefully you can qualify in your region, but you will need to talk to someone who runs the region in your area, contact your local club to find out who :daumenhoch:

Who's organizing the northrn and midland championships.

Ratty and Co have put a lot of work into getting our class recognized at regional level.

There should be someone from the other regions that does the same to support their own regions. However they are going to need the support of riders actually turning up to race consistently in order for it to be taken seriuously. On a bad race day in the south region you'll still have 10 - 14 riders turn up.

Besides it should be easier for you guy's as you have a lot more tracks to play on.  :LolLolLolLol:

From what Mike Wong was telling me you can race what class you like at the Brits as long as you have done your 5 qualifing rounds  :crazy2:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'
