Thanks for the info matey; never seen S&M forks like that before, must have been really early models.

Another one for Alex's S&M fork thread

It's like i've said before, in those early days when Chris had S&M's made all over the place (GT, Revcore, B&E), the stuff got tweaked every production run, even Chris can't remember half of the stuff he did!  That dirtbike is about a 1989/1990 model I think.

Of course you know that you're now gonna get us started on what forks you've got fitted to that beauty

They're S&M

Clive, Ive never seen a set of S&M forks with a semi leading axle & rounded drop outs that wrap under the legs. Im not at all saying they aint S&M forks, just that I have never seen a set like that. (btw, I know that much later 1 1/8th pitchforks had rounded, wrap under drop outs)

I thought the first ones ("mad dog" ones) had the very triangle drop outs with the holes above the wheel slot, Then the "S&M Forks" that had a same shape drop out to pitchforks.

Like you say, there were so many changes made in the early days it would be close to imposible to keep up with all of them.

Alex, I can't think of why I would've changed the forks, plus they are double dropout jobs which hardly anyone was doing then, maybe it's a CW/Revcore built one, the dropouts do look very similar to Revcore ones.......like we've said, we'll never know.....however these are very different to the style you mentioned off of my Mad Dog with the longer leg and triangular dropout shape.

Who knows eh?
