piss pot or not
« on: February 29, 2008, 04:57 PM »
so....after 3 yrs i got round to getting my medical records from hospital, from when i had my off at rom in the moguls.

silly crash, no speed, but.....no lid.

i always, and i do mean always wear a full face lid, apart from this on time....

now, the other week it was mentioned in a thread, why wasnt i wearing my lid....answer is, i dont really know.
and two bob rob asked trev if he thought that the piss pot lid that he wearswould have helped him out in the situation that i found myself in.

heres my ct scan the day after the accident, before i had the 8 plates and numerous screws wound in to haul my head back into shape.
you decide if a piss pot would have helped.

and heres an xray of the day i woke, four days after the wipeout.
this is my lower and upper jaw, numerous plates and 70 odd self tapers.
in this you cant see the plates on my cheek bones/eye sockets, ot the one across the bridge of my hooter.

Dave
haro, how do you do

Gnarly.......

I never realised just how many screws went in Dave.  Did you say 80 odd the other day?  Crazy..

When I tell people the story, I always say 'he broke his face' when I'm asked what you did.  They never quite get it.  Those x rays bring it home though eh?

not sure a piss pot would have helped you, but it might.

only because you might have not tried to keep your head up instictively?

dunno, I'm not very experienced with big crashes...yet.

Nope.  Not that kinda crash.

No time for instinctual moves, or fcuk all else.   Had he have tried to hold his head up, it could very well have been a busted neck.....  who knows.

By the way, I sincerely hope you're never this experienced with big crashes buddy.   ;)

remember that slam like it was yesterday,  awful to see, was the worst slam i've ever seen at rom and i've seen a few :(

yes a full face would have saved the facial impact but it was a freak accident in my book,  you know i'm a supporter of fface,

and it's great to see a few top americam pros wearing them for the streat course now ;)
For powder coating drop me a pm

thats good. finally.  freak accidents are one thing, but i never understood people doing obviously crazy tricks like front flips  etc without fullfacers.

those CT and Xrays look fooking scary!!!  i was toying with the idea of getting a p*ss pot helmet as my full face gets really hot, then i face slammed at Corby about a month ago and my full face is now my bestest friend!

Got to be a fullface all the way. Many years ago a mate of mine hooked up on the performance bowl at rom and landed on his face at the bottom.'Erased chin' was the result.

I can understand the reasons for a pisspot lid but check this short vid out and look at the amount of stacks where a pisspot was totally worthless.

The video, ahh bring back the 80's.

Full face every time mate, having had a nasty crash 3 weeks ago, i am so grateful i was wearing a FF helmet, could have been so much worse for me otherwise.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.
