Good old Eddie Roman rode 2 tuffs on his dirtbike (see the clip I posted in the Video section).

Gossa used a pair of Graf Tuffs on his Mad Dog (See pics somewhere in the Mid section).

But not the new, lookey-likey Graffs! Not on a "Classic bike" from the early 90s.

Normals are crap for everything other than looking good. They flex, they are weak, and they aint light.

Graphites are better than normals, they weigh less than normals ..... but they still flex (slightly less) and they still brake. They just cost more!

I think that's true, but for some reason certain bike just look wrong without them. I hate seeing TAs with alloys (or worse still Z-Rims) even though I know that the alloys would definitely be better for racing, similarly some bikes just look wrong with Tuffs (JMC DY with tuffs? ). Can't comment on their suitability for DirtBikes as I kind of missed the midschool era, but if it works for you then I'd say go with it.

For what it's worth, my New School racer has Graffs (the much maligned new ones) on it - just looks right that way.

Tuffs were good enough for Mad Dog.

Top Left.  On his build for the 20th party.

Y'all remember that.

I threw some regular Tuffs on my Holmes not too long ago, forgetting that I weighed 100 lbs the last time I rode them(1993)...

They sure flex nowadays. And they didn't stop too good either...

But they look cool.
