OS Race Bike Needed and GOT! Haro RS1. Dibly beware!!!!
« on: February 16, 2008, 03:41 PM »
Dibly's been pestering me to race Old School.

I think he sees me as Race Bait, someone who will make him look good. i.e. I'll finish last.   Only Kidding Dibly!!!

I have my Quad Freestyler Survivor which is for purely Cruising, Posing and Pulling Women  "Hey gorgeous, fancy a ride" usually does the trick.

I have my Coyote Schizoid for Ripping and Thrashing and other "Yoof" speak I dont fully understand.

I also have my name on a list for a 25th Anniversary T/A but that could take forever and I'd probably wouldn't want to thrash it either.

So I'm after a dedicated OS Race Bike.

BITD I was always quite envious over my mate's Mongoose Californian until I managed to wrangle a Quad F+F (Fell off back of lorry, I think).   I was riding a Falcon Pro Theta back then with tange forks.  I bust them when I tried to run a car over.  The car won easily although the snakebite tread tyre bit back and left marks on his chrome bumper.   My knees also won by crushing his bonnet,  gigantic swolen knees but not broken bones.  And it was a tie between my face and his windscreen, No smashed windscreen but teeth marks in the glass Vs a Frank Bruno sized Fat lip.

So whats the difference between these Mongoose's.   The Californian, Supergoose mk 3 and a Pro Class.  Apart from the names.

I'm referring to Geometry, weight, TT length, strength, quality etc, etc.

I would like any pro's and cons and other opinions on these bikes also.

I think I'm going to try and do this on the cheap as well.   So, those mongoose's might be a little bit out of my price bracket.

I don't mind wrecking this bike either, therefore I don't want to spend a lot of money.

No cast-iron butchers bikes either.  I want it light and sprightly to give Dibly a run for his money.

So if anyone has any other suggestions for my OS Race bike then LMK.

Thanks

A couple of interesting prospects!!!!

How much does the Pro-Lite F+F weigh.  Have you got any bike specs anywhere.   It's a brand I've heard of but I've never had a go on one BITD.
What components does it come with.   (Dont say BB, Crank arms, pedals etc, etc.  I mean what brands are they?)

The Haro looks okay too.

But I still haven't anything about the Mongoose's.

More suggestions needed.

Thanks

PS. Whats the deal with MADD DOG's Hyper?   What is it? How Good is it?  How Cheap it is?  Any Specs?

I think the tt length on  the supergoose is 18.5 the pro class is about 19.5
strength is good on both quality superb not to sure on a price of a supergoose but the pro class is big bucks ££££££

Dibly, your like a brother to me.

Don't worry i'll let you win a race or two, if it's that important to you.

I'm more than happy just to take part, and make the numbers up.

Peace in this world,   Food for the starving.  Health care for the sick,  these are things that are too much to ask for.......

..... But, If I have to endo into the first double just to make your dreams come true dibly, I would do it.

Your like the long lost brother I never had.  Which is true because I've never had a long lost brother!!!

Bare in mind though,  full body armour, Helmet, shin, wrist, forearm, elbow, shin + knee pads and a box (for my family jewels) and neck brace will be worn at all times.

I'm not foolish, don't you know!!!!!

I've just scanned a mag with a bike test on a Robinson RSR Pro.

It got rave reviews.

How much can you get them for?
