Race Show Bikes - Do you like a fatty or thiny up front?
« on: February 13, 2008, 01:27 PM »
Personally, I like a fat one (2.125") up front and a skinny (1.75") on the rear.

How do you like yours?

Let's have your thoughts.

hmmm....I don't think fatties look right on some bikes, great on very early stuff, but not right on say, a TA or aeropro burner.

I watched Joe Kid on a Stingray again last night and the balloon tyres looked proper old school ... but  ???

I prefer to use 175's on my show bikes  :daumenhoch:

Deffo a fatty up front and skinny at back  :daumenhoch:

I remember in the mid to late 80's that the race scene went to both skinnies - chasing weight loss I think  :-\.

Always used thins front and rear bitd and set my GT up accordingly. However, having raced it and realised that the front needs to provide traction for several more stone these days, I can see a fat being tried out on the front soon.
