whats the difference between 24tpi and 28 tpi - what does the tpi stand for ?

I know the 28tpi ones fit the threaded redline flight spindles and the old mongoose cranks. I presume the 24tpi and one piece cranks.

nick, mongoose 1 piece cranks have 28t as do redline flight cranks and standard 1 piece cranks are 24t
