have bought one from the states...it absolutely mint, i think it's been rechromed...problem being this has included the shaft ???

it now doesnt fit headset/forks and i dont want to fook it up by trying to 'encourage' it in...

how do i strip back the chrome on the shaft so i can use it without damaging it?

i think it will need sanding or media blasting
usually you need to take it to a polisers/chromers to let them do it.

The chrome will need to be taken off as even a thin layer of paint will stop the shaft fitting ! Oh er !

Give Doug Taylors a call they are local to me and are very good chromer's so should be able to sort - let me know if you want me to take it in !
