Newbie to building!
« on: February 02, 2008, 09:22 PM »
Hi all.

Just bought me a 1985 Aero Reflex f+f to try out my first `budget` build.
Getting a set of cranks off Ron Burgundy, which are aparently the same size/spec as profile cranks.
Been searching for bloody hours to no avail, can one of you genius` point me in the direction of which bottom bracket I need to buy?
Also, could you advise whether to get sealed/non-sealed and any good (cheap! :)) brands to look out for?

Many thanks fellas!

Darren.

if they're the same as profiles, then a BB that will fit profiles will do  :)  so something that fits a 19mm spindle with a US BB (I think). Most BMX shops will sell a BB set for a Profile crank.
It would help seeing a pic so see what you're getting with it though

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but that spindle could be 20mm and not 19mm, you need to measure it to be sure. I saw some 20mm bottom brackets on ebay for £5 the other day. :)
