Headset help....!
« on: January 29, 2008, 01:39 PM »
Sorry for the poor rushed pics, but I think you'll get the idea.......

Headtube with an ID of 30mm. The forks are 1" threaded.

I want to fit a shiney chrome headset, but the 1" Halfrauds sets have bearing cups with a diameter of 33mm....they aint gonna fit. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help will be greatfully accepted.
Cheers,
Jason.

For old/mid school BMX, th OD of the cup should be 32.7mm (33mm isn't too bad), the ID of the head tube should be approx 32.4 - 32.6mm.

Is it possible that the frame you have is a newer asian shitter? I ask because it may have a JIS headset.

JIS - Japanese Industrial Standard

I think I have a black headset to fit if you need one, but I take it you want a chrome one?

No need for it to be NOS, JIS is a current standard. Try your local bike shop, if he can't help you, I'll see if mine has a chrome one  :daumenhoch:
