Nice idea Dwain and I'd deffo be interested. Like others have mentioned though, I think you may only get limited requests (even though there's currently 3883 members) based on previous stuff like the Rad tees but I can see your enthuisam and hope it don't get dented.

It's a real shame that stuff like tees don't appear to sell in great numbers, can't understand why, it's promoting and helping the Rad site, the designs are cool and says where you're at. The last 2 MK ones were great and I got a couple of the older Rad designed tees as well, so I'd be up for the race jersey :daumenhoch:

I hope it works out.

Paul :)

Dwain it's a great idea.....but like Paul said before........there are nearly 4000 members on here but for the CIN ride last year we only sold about 35 T shirts which were £20 each and all profits going to Children in need.

I guess people would rather sell there first born for a NOS MX1000 rather than a race shirt from RAD  :-\

If you want to ensure the jerseys sell, take pre-orders, full payment up front.  If you get the jersey made by a quality company like Hot Shoppe or Verge Sport (who I use), they should work out at about £25 each once you've paid the duties/taxes and shipping.  I think £35-£40 is a fair price to charge people and still make a reasonable profit for your time/labour.

Hot Shoppe do a custom service for a small additional fee where the rider can have their name on the back.

Personally, I think the classic Skyway design with the radbmx.co.uk URL in the Skyway font instead of Skyway would look ace and I would be happy to pay for the jersey up front.  If you use Hot Shoppe, you don't even have to produce a blueprint/artwork of the jersey, just tell them what you want and they'll do the artwork.

Hopefully there's enough info here to enable whoever takes on this project to take it forward.

great info :daumenhoch:
as ive said before taking a deposit or full payment would be essential and a small corporate logo from an outside
company would ease the financial burden

The url for Hot Shoppe is www.hotshoppedesigns.com and the company is owned/run by Torker legend Dave Marietti, so you know you're supporting a business with roots.

I think the first step would be to just contact Hot Shoppe, tell them the concept and ask nicely if they will produce the artwork (they may not want to if there is no definite order to come, as I'm sure they get plenty of time wasters just like any other company in the bike biz - but I think they recently made the Skyway retro jerseys, so the template should be on their system already anyway).  Post the artwork up on here, get people to commit to purchase and take payment, place order, then wait impatiently for said items to arrive.

The only issue is getting the right sizes (I find that when I buy clothes in the UK, I buy Large, but when I buy clothes in America I buy Medium), but that can be easily sorted by comparing with other Hot Shoppe jerseys.  I think the Hayes Hawks jerseys are Hot Shoppe, so if, for example, Miles Kirby's Hawks jersey is a large, then I would probably need the next size up.

Anyway, I hope all of that info helps.  I'll step back from the project now as I've got more than enough on my plate!  I will commit to buying a Skyway themed Hot Shoppe Rad jersey though, as that blue Nike top I race in looks shit in photos  ;)
