1" Headset Question
« on: January 26, 2008, 08:10 AM »
I'm just about to start building up my 95/96 Condor - 1" threaded forks, clamp on stem and a 1" Odyssey Gyro - but what would be the best headset to use?

:) Don`t think a clamp-on stem will fit onto 1"threaded forks. The steerer tube maybe too short, and most clamp on stems are 1 1/8?

Unless...

Is it a Hoffman Superfork?

That would make it a 1" threadless clamp on. I think they came out around 95/96.

yeah thats the same stem as I have, forks are 1" with threaded section at the top (must be for a nut to screw down to the stem like the superforks?) I guess a 1" aheadset and some spacers would be the best choice?

i had a friend who just gave a regular 1" headset a quick rub with a file over the threads to use on his superforks.

tioga beartrap 2 should fit ok too, i have BT2 on my s&m forks although i was given a top nut with them,

you may need to file the top nut on the BT2 headset to fit your super forks,

if not this is awsome
