That's the very run I was talking about - brilliant. I was there a year later and he wasn't riding - bummer!

I can watch that over and over again - it's awesome!

The scariest part is that first big air....how close to the edge of the pipe was he when he came in to land...I bet the old nipper twitched a bit when he looked down  ;D

The 540 canyon (or transfer as it's now known, we came up with canyon first ffs) is insane for it's time, high, smooth, cool as you like!

Then SBD.

No, seriously, Bob H and Mike D would be a treat. As well as a certain Mr Hassel, or does he still ride?

Jesus H Christ.  That Dominguez video is nuts.

Not sure I ever saw him rode in person - memory like a seive lol.  Was he at any of the Holeshots?  Or the Carlisle Worlds?

Oh aye, to answer the OP, I've no idea... :LolLolLolLol:

I'd settle for a few of these dead folk just not being, well, deaded.  Only started being interested in bmx again in the last few years and the number of riders who are no longer with us is bloody shocking.

From the UK this is a real old school blast but I'd like to see Andy Ruffell and Cav Strutt back on bikes, rode with them bitd originally at Harrow and then over at Hollow Ponds, Red Rec and Eastway.  Both were instrumental in me getting my first BMX bike and both of them were way ahead of everyone else in terms of ability.

From the US, Bob Haro and Mike D, enough said there  ;).

Pah.....Wilkerson wasn't even in the same league as Mike D  ::)

Don't get me wrong, Wilkerson was good but I think Dominguez raised the bar more, plus Wilkerson went left to right and we all know bummers go left to right  :LolLolLolLol:

CC was class but Ruffell was radder!

If you hadn't have said no back chat I wouldn't have said owt  ;)

Wilkerson was amazing.  Dominguez was a much better ramp rider though.  Wilkerson took it to the next level though. He was probably the first person to start doing technical deck tricks.  Also Wilkerson was probably the best all round rider in the world until DMC came along.

Completely agree Trev, Wilkerson's pedal picker drop-ins still amaze me today - quality!

I used to try them on small ramps.  Scary as fook.  Wilkerson doing them on a 12ft halfpipe was just insane.
Do you also remember his Miami Hopper Backwards Drop Ins?  Probably the sickest deck trick ever done in the 80's.

I remember Ron saying that he had to try and push the limits on those sort of tricks because there was a new batch of kids coming through that he couldn't keep up with on the airs.  One of them was a young kid called Mat Hoffman (with two T's)

I do mate.....mad as f***......I remember him doing one at Holeshot. I think that was the first and only one I saw live, I remember him setting up and thinking, oh no, he's not, he is you know, wow!

As for pedal pickers, I couldn't even do them on the floor, not my specialist area!  ::)

I was amazed at the MD vid i never realised he went that high, he's got that powerful style like carlo just bootiful.

I would rather see MD any day of week but to be fair RW was better all round rider, Tons of lip tricks in his bag.

Poole 85/86 Ruff hops hopped right to the edge of the deck stalled on front wheel looked at the crowd and hopped in. Gnarly back then my friends. Only ever saw Andy and Neil ruff do ruff hops but never saw neil pull em (over the bars at slough national 85)

Your not jealous of his "hair" are you (sorry i can't talk)
