These dates are now history, look out for the 2010 dates coming soon in a thread near here The BMX National Series is now confirmed and will take place over 8 weekends giving riders the opportunity to race over 12 rounds. The series starts in the South West at Burnham-On-Sea, stays in the South West for the next round before moving to the Midlands with races at Mansfield and Chesterfield. It's a welcome return to national racing at Mansfield who have a very impressive revamped track. We head up to pastures new at Hartlepool for the next round. For those unfamiliar with Hartlepool, the track is located in picturesque Summerhill Country Park and has an amazing 6 straights. It's back down to Burnham in July, then back up north to sample Coppull's hotpot, then over to neighbours Preston for the last round in October.

This year's British Championships will take place at Orton Malborne, near Peterborough. The club have a few changes planned, but nothing major to the track other than to revamp the rhythm section. Any rider wishing to race the British Championships must have a BC membership valid for the whole of 2008 and must also have qualified through their own summer region series. It's early days, but it is the aim to televise the Brits as per 2007.

All riders in the main categories will require British Cycling Silver or Gold membership plus a full race licence
All national series events will be Saturday and Sunday
Events that have a race on the Saturday will have practice until Midday with racing commencing at 1pm
Sunday's race will commence at 10am
A rider's best 8 results will count towards their overall national series standing. A rider only needs to compete once to gain a standing
The top 8 riders in all classes will receive a trophy at the last round in Preston.
Riders aged 12 and under and ranked 9-16 will also receive a trophy if 7 events have been completed by round 11
Elite and Junior will compete over 11 rounds, as round 8 and 9 at Burnham will showcase the Elite and Junior categories on Saturday evening only
Round 12 will have a slightly different schedule to accommodate the presentation. The first 2 Motos will take place on Saturday evening with the 3rd Moto commencing at 10am Sunday morning. Schedule still to be agreed with the host club
All categories will have A and B-Finals if numbers allow
A new category for female riders aged 6 and under has been created
The 10 metre line ruling will remain in place for the 2008 national series
