Guys, at the moment the start gate needs repair. We are waiting for the council to let me know if it will get done by sunday. If not we may have to cancel the race. I will post on here as soon as I get an answer. :daumenhoch:

should be ok for Sunday now :daumenhoch:

Ratty, don't cancel just cos of the gate.  Get a piece of rope and we'll do proper old school starts  :daumenhoch:

I agree Mike, the trouble is most racers want the gate practice more than the race. Tell you what if we get 20 names down who will do rubber band starts then we will run with or without the gate :daumenhoch:

Mike it takes 3 guys to lift the gate 1 inch off the ground at the minute where the council have made it so heavy !!!

Sharon, I didn't mean lift the gate with the rope.  If the gate doesn't work, keep it down and we just use the rope across the lanes and charge out when it drops (proper old school, like before the days gates were invented).

The Mrs has some old matenity bras that should do the trick strung between a couple of poles (as in sticks, rather than the people what do the plastering).  ::)

Looking forward to racing again on Sunday.  The last race I did at Braintree seems like a distant memory already!
