Help a dumbass out please!
« on: January 27, 2008, 06:07 PM »
Is this worth £50 - £65 of my hard-earned?

I need something to get me re-started into this stupid world of BMX racing but moreso to chase the kids around on while they find thier feet. (Or wheels!  ;) )

OR would it be OK for my 8 yr old daughter to get started on?
I've got the boy a Ripper Jnr that he's like the fooking wind on!  :D

I know nowt about this 'new-school' stuff but just know that I'm 6' 2" so I needs somat quite large but don't particularly wanna go the Cruiser route!  :-\

:) I would say well worth it.It`s an older design-I think a 21"front end,so good for taller riders.

Well worth it  :daumenhoch:

Jamie Staff and Kelvin and Liam Batey rode Haro's like that one (I think the frame was the same on the bikes but components were diferent on each model) and they are both 6'plus

 :) DINGO :)

It looks like a bag of chisels, but if you can get over the looks, it's worth £60 to get back into the swing of things.

Thank god somebody said that, I thought I was losing touch. It really is pig-ugly truth be told. It might prove to be false economy because the bug is gonna bite as soon as you start riding and you'll be after something else in a couple of weeks. If your'e a bit wobbly spend £150 on a decent second hand cruiser, it'll see the year out and you won't look such a dick chasing your kid round on what looks a little bit 'catalogue'.

Well I ended up getting it for £67.00. Dropped a bolock really. Should've just bought it outright at £65.00 instead of trying to save a few bucks by bidding! Had to get my mate to bid on it for me too as my poxy PC would bot up in time!  ::)

If it's the right size for my daughter then she can use it and I'll find something for myself. If not, it'l do me for a while. Never been bothered too much by looks but always felt right on Haro's.

I was at Alveston on sunday pottering round on my mountain bike which was alright until I got some air off the second doubles & whacked my bollox on the back of the seat! :buck2: Forgot theyare a LOT higher on mountain bikes!  :2funny:

Bignut if you still had the ripper you could have thrown all the bits off the haro onto it. :D
Joking apart I like those haro's that one is just set up a bit hoopty, take the front brake off, lower the seat and move the bars back a bit and it will look a treat. :)
