Yes! another Big Daddy thread.
« on: January 08, 2008, 04:43 PM »

Here's the frame I got from Al!
It's in pretty decent shape other than the rear. So i'm thnking instead of stripping it and repowdering and buying new decals I'll just touch up the rear and build it.
Still huntin a pair of forks. but for now I'll put my chrome ones one.

Just 2. I actually have the chrome one on Ebay right now. I wanna find another cool mid school frame and fork. Decided I only need one of each kind of bike.

Fitted the chrome Big Daddy fork from my other frame. I'm still looking for a painted fork.
Had a Yellow one lined up to buy but the guy vanished.

Iused a beartrap also. I had lots of threads left.
As always I will use some Araya Super 7x's with a Nanakia on the rear and a Dkb sealed on the front.
I found another set of Super 7x.s so may go with a different front hub yet.

cool, i think that my forks may have been cut down then :-\

i was gonna say a nankai would be awsome, when i got my BD from the USA the fella sent me the original wheelset he used in the mid 90s and i just got a NOS one with a 14t driver which i'm either gonna lace up to a super 7x or rechrome my hp 48's

I also have a couple taska hubs one is on a rim. it's off a DK signal so has 14mm axles. the other is a older one like the hoffman EP's used.
I think the DK one is gonna go on ebay soon.
I have a GT flame chainwheel 41t and am getting a profile tri fan 40t so will see which i like better.

Still needs a brake on the rear but all I have are black ones. So I'm gonna order a silver one.

Thanks Bro!

will have to do some work so the gyro doesn't hit the stem it looks like. to bad they did make the stem a 1/4 inch longer. I'll have to raise it up  bit.
I aso cleaned up the forks and the chrome is peeling so I guess they ones will be painted in the future.

Oh ya! we have way to much snow to be riding .LOL! couple more months.

I filed the plate too but now the gyro won't go up enough. So i'll Just raise the stem a bit.

I saw that the dyno went finally. I sold my chrome BD last night also.
now to buy something else.

By the look of that photo, you need to creat some more clearance between the top plate and the gyro bearing itself.  Don't think you'll have enough 'pull' the way it is now.  Is the bearing sitting as low as it'll go?

Or is that just because there's no brake pulling everything into place?

yeah it look like it sits at the top, but fitting the brake should pull it down to the bottom, mines tight but all works fine.

It's a Schwinn  xs seat.
I won a pair of Big Daddy forks for it. the guy bought a Big Daddy Frame and fork BITD and used a super fork so they were never used. So I'n happy about that.
