brakes questions

got a brake adaptor from caplier brakes to new school brakes put hombre on then tried to fit v brakes and they dont fit the holes are too small for the to slide onto the adaptor .are hombre and v brakes different fittings ?

cos v brakes and u brakes are different size(see how i stated the obvious there)

yeah i think i figured that .i think .i though they were same fitting .set up hombre on the front but doesnt work very well really .got v brake on rear and it is shit hot so was trying to put on front too .can u set adaptors for the v brake from calipers ?

i think you can get em gregg yeah...but to be honest, a u brake can be set up to work the boll0cks
never as good as a v brake , but there seems to be no in between with v brakes...they are either off...or on....try to fettle the ubrake...it will come good

the u brake works fine until i u turn the cable then it seems crap .but it seems to be the only way to set it up .ie cable tie to forks and u back to caliper

lube the cable with silicone spray ....plenty of grease on the lugs too gregg...thats the key...

silicone spray .i sprayed wd 40 down them is this not good ?

no...funnily enough wd doesnt really lube well enough....common grease is miles better, but silicone spray is the best...you can get bike specific stuff from halfords...not dear at all mate
