GT parts - Age?
« on: January 15, 2008, 05:04 PM »
Just arrived from the states this morning! GT forks and GT crank. The crank I have to say is in a much better condition than explained on gaybay so well happy with that. I know the crank isn't era correct but it will go on the pro performer of mine as these are sweet. The forks were listed as pro performer forks but not old school.

Does anyone have an idea what age these parts are?

Thanks,

Matt  :daumenhoch:

neither in the 93, 96, or 98 catalog matt, but the decals i think are mid to late 90s,

anything stamped into the neck of the forks ?

Yeah man those cranks are heavy! Tough heavy built jobbers that's for sure.

Rob on the neck of the forks are: XHL98C8

So could be 1998?

As for the crank nothing stamped on that, although it is very nice but HEAVY!  :daumenhoch:

yeah from the code probably 98 but i would say not GT if so, as they are not in the 98 catalog but would need to see a 99 catalog to be sure as made in 98 may be released for sale in 99, are they 1" threaded ?

yeah its by no means deffinate as i have a set of freestyle forks by GT similar date also 1" threaded, also not in the 98 catalog but they do have the GT logo stamped into them,

the trouble is GT have sooooooo many parts made by sooooo many others.

you should see some of the GT disscusions on BMXMUSEUM, they could drive me insane there so complicated :LolLolLolLol:
