The King of crapstyle
« on: January 13, 2008, 11:17 PM »
Put some pegs on my 2006 sport and went out for a ride...

Ok lets try one of those endo's....leap up, front brake on and the bike stops absolutely flat on the ground...

Right then, bunny hop...bring up the front wheel...bring up the back wheel...I said bring up the sodding back wheel...get up you fooker....it stays firmly planted on the ground, bollox...

Good job it was dark, I'm really crap  :'(

Heres the story...I'll try and make it short.  A couple of years ago I bought a Raleigh chopper mk2 because my parents never bought me one....while I was looking through ebay I came across a Skyway TA and I just thought Wow! I must have one of them. for some odd reason I bought an 84 master instead, and eventually got a TA.  I wanted to try riding as they were meant to be ridden, but I couldnt bring myself to punish old school bikes with my heavy frame.  So I bought a sport and I liked it so much I couldnt bring myself to do it to that either, so I thought sod it and bought another sport as well...Oddly my daily rider sport seems a damn sight heavier than the my other one which has skyways and kneesavers fitted.  The plan is to learn what I can on the sport before building myself a pro level bmx (read expensive) and I'd rather trash a sport that cost me £100, than muller a £500+ bike...

I needed a hobby, this is what I chose and I do enjoy my bikes....its just a shame that the sport seems to weigh about 10 tons...still its a start  :daumenhoch:

Hopefully i wont be the king of crapstyle for ever  :(

That's cool Ray just very unusual, I'd say 99% of people on here, as far as old school is concerned anyway, rode back in the day. How ever you got in to doesn't matter for me so good on yer and keep at it.

Good luck.  :daumenhoch:

Seconded   :daumenhoch:

Don't get too hung up on your bike's weight.   Just get padded up and get riding with other people. You'll soon start picking stuff up.

Fuzzynod springs to mind.  His is a similar story and he's riding well these days   :)

Thanks guys...

I'll be starting off with the novice session at Skaterham this coming Saturday...I'll probably be crap there too  :2funny: But its ok because its about having fun anyway...perhaps if I pedal fast enough I might get the tank off the ground (a terrfying prospect).  Hopefully it'll go ok  :daumenhoch:
