Shipping delays USA
« on: January 11, 2008, 11:37 AM »
I went down to my parcelforce (extortionists R US) depot today to post some stuff and asked about three parcels i am waiting for from the US since just before xmas. It appears that the snow and dodgy weather has caused lots of flights to be cancelled and with the backlog of passenger flights having had priority, my gear is sitting in a container at the new jersey hub. Just thought i would share this if anyone else was waiting for stuff and was getting concerned. Apparently the delay will carry on for a little while yet :-[
still gives me a chance to save up for the stealth tax when it all arrives :knuppel2: :knuppel2:

Thanks for this heads up... I have a tuf neck powerdisc on its way, a GT 3 piece crank and some Kuwi lazerlite bars. What's weird though is that I purchased a load of ron wilkerson mushroom grips only last week from the states and they have already arrived?  :idiot2: just wish my other bits would turn up soon though, getting worried...  :-\

Must be down to Customs. I got a New Skool Redline Flight Crank off of Ultimate Bikes in the US, and it turned up 6 days after I ordered it. No additional charges from HMG either....

My stuff should be re-delivered tomorrow (not sure what happened to it on Friday), so it looks like the backlog's been caught up with.

Ok, after feelin a right prat and launching PayPal non recieved goods claims against...wait for it...8 U.S. Sellers...
for items bought late November/Early December... all of a sudden mid last week they started coming through.

Why though ONE SET of brake pads sent on 11th December from Cali took until TODAY to be delivered is beyond me.
I bought a set flight cranks 2 weeks ago, they arrived last Friday.  ???
Bought set bars Jan 3rd,arrived today.  :idiot2:

That prompted my worries over the earlier stuffs non appearance.  :tickedoff:

I've got a whole bike gone awol, even with tracking, that suddenly turned up in UK Customs and is now "being processed."

However, apart from the obvious mental distress caused  ;D i can live with the fact that UK Customs have charged me none o' that b0ll0xy import tax as they are firing stuff through like no-ones business and only charging obvious big value parcels, leaving the little fish alone. I got that from a Parcel Force employee mate of mine.

Now..who's gonna start another thread about Yanks that wont ship to the UK cause they cant be arsed?

They're a growing breed them pesky varmints  :2gunsfiring_v1:

Put my mind a rest a little knowing that others are waiting for parcels to come through. Got some pedals due to come that i need to finish the build. I asked them to mark the item as a gift to avoid the tax, hope they did.
