I have been trying to find footage of an episode from the TV show called CH'iPs (yes, those dudes on the Police harleys) from 1979 that featured BMX racing, I know it was episode 21 from season two but cannot locate on youtube or elsewhere to that fact...

I just managed to locate the rider at least http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Sewell (scroll to bottom of page for TV episode details of ChiPs)..

Help...?

my brother has bought the box set for Chips and he's watched them all and said he hasn't seen the one with the BMX's in it, so that one is not out yet. But they will be bringing them all out eventually. My brother will be buying them as soon as they come out, so i'll let you guys know as soon as it's available.

I knew those pictures would get posted, ha ha...

Getting excited to see that footage, episode has been stuck in my head for 27 years or so, the dude ends up in a mud pit between some doubles...?

Some reason I knew it wasn't a Harley, extra point gained there!

Don't forget the freeze frame comedy endings they always did...

COOOOL, I remember reading interviews with early BMX riders and so many of them said they first saw BMX on CHiPs. Im looking forward to watching that.

I also remember seeing Larry Wilcox in BMX magazines. He got into racing or something. Wilcox racing?

This was what started the whole thing off for me and Andy Ruffell and all the other Walthamstow locals back in (i think) 79.

Larry Wilcox came to a race i was at in the US in 1982 to promote what he was involved in then, he had a go on the track and it was a downhill start straight into a decent sized jump that would launch you really high and far, he rolled off the start looking shaky and goofy on a bmx bike and when he hit the jump he flew straight over the bars and slammed really hard

He didnt get up and was stretchered away in a lot of pain, turns out he broke several ribs!!!
