Wasn't sure where to post these?!?
Anyhoo, I'm originally from Kintore in Aberdeenshire and these pics were taken around 1985 in Kemnay and Alford. If anyone has any idea who the pics are of let me know please! They aint the best I know but camera was a Boots own job. There's a good chance that one of the riders in Kemnay pics is Phil Middleton?? or possibly Paul Robertson but I've contacted him to find out. Some others around at the time were Richie Mutch, Neil & Phil Beattie, Mark Copland, The Gourley Bros (one in Glasgow now i believe).
The ramp in Alford pics says 'macgas' across it?!?

My family used to live just up the road from Alford. My Parents lived in Lumsden, GrandParents in Rhynie and Brother in Clatt. They lived there for about 20 years and have just moved back to the South West. My Brother actually managed the Alford U13's football team about 2 years ago and I think they played where your pictures were taken as he dragged me along a couple of times to watch his team and I recognise the area.
My Cousin (also Uncle and Auntie) still live in the area and used to race there bitd, I know he grew up in Insch (amoungst (sp) others), but I also think he lived in Inverurie also.
I let him have my old GT factory bike when I gave up racing in 85. I spoke to him recently and he still has it.

There was a really good scene in that area, i lived in Mintlaw at the time before moving to Dunfermine in Nov 85 (also loads of bmx there)
I went to Kemnay for the Scottish Freestyle Association comp in 86 (i think), mini bus from Dunfermline with Livi lot, Gary Foley from Dumfries.. who had a nice green Streetbeat.
In Mintlaw there was a load of us, Graham Buchan, Dale Robertson, John Wood, Brian Turiff..i forget the rest.
Aberdeen rider Stuart Duncan used to come to Mintlaw regularly.
Cheers

yeah, the scene was massive back then. Shame there isn't more into old school in Scotland!
We even had a comp in Kintore one year down at the railway line! I'm sure there was some dude from Skyway there.
