Greg is a fine individual. I can say that I have the privilege of knowing him since he was 12. We both started racing in late 74 at the same local track.

We only live about 30 miles apart but it is tough to coordinate schedules to get together. We plan on working on that this year.

That is Greg I am jumping over. It is Stu behind the camera. I was very fortunate to hang with some great company. :)

Do you realize Dennis, if you got that jump wrong and splatted Greg all those years ago, just how different BMX would be today ::)

Greg just rolls his eyes when I tell this next story, and says thanks for reminding me.

At the time of this story Stu and I are about 17 years old, so that would put Greg around 12 or 13. Stu is driving his smallish Nissan Pick-up truck and I am in the passenger seat. That puts Greg on the gearbox in the middle. (no seatbelt)

Stu makes eye contact with me and pulls his seatbelt tight, I do the same. He then hits a double dip of some kind or bump/jump in the road (I can't remember which)and Greg slams his head into the roof, actually denting the metal.

Stu and I are cracking up. Of course Greg is pissed, but he is 13 and probably weights 110 lbs. What's he gonna do? >:D

Like I said, Greg just loves this story! :2funny:

Those were/are nice.  A fella who races 40+ in the South Region has the cruiser version.  Much nicer than the current aluminium GHP frames.
