Anyone trying their luck on OS-BMX boty?
« on: December 19, 2007, 04:15 PM »
I've seen Jimmy P's super trooper Aero Pro and ET on there, and Stidds' lovely ladies, anyone else on here having a go across the pond? Jimmy's in the same catergorie as me on the racing so I'm afraid I had to vote for myself  (sorry Jimmy):LolLolLolLol:

Stidds was a lucky lad and got a couple of thumbs up though  (shall I re-phrase that?) :-*
Just remembered Mark YGT got his GT pit on there too, certainly kicked ass for effort in that catergorie, Atari Ager with the minty  Pro Class.

Got the Pro Star and TA XL in the racing catergorie and the purple reign Trick Star in freestyle.
Have a looksie if your a member....

And happy holidays as those guys say.... :4_17_5:

Always worth a go Jimmy, you've certainly put in some worthy contenders.  It seems to be taken a lot more  seriously over there, politics and people getting hot under the collar leading up to it. It's a more relaxed affair over here.  :LolLolLolLol:

Best bike by far in my opinion(not that this counts for much) is that hutch on here(page 1) , aint looked on the other site, but them builds ell have to go a long way to beat this, fooking depressing when you ve put everything into a build , then that hutch appears , good on ya mate, fooking stunning. Ps how does it work on here , voting etc

How serious!???

Even putting down what grease was used for the bearings.  :wtf:

Man, build the bike how you like it and submit it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :LolLolLolLol:

The bikes on this site rock. Maybe we can have a duel. Winner of ours vs the winner on theirs! i love a battle me. ;)

Marks Hutch is really, really nice, but have a look at the other bikes on OS-BMX BOTY and you will see some amazing builds.

It may not appeal to you but have a look at some of the pre 1979 builds and then try to imagine just how hard it is finding parts that old.  On my DeCoster I have practicall all NOS parts all dating from 1978 and before, it isn't just about bling..

oh it does appeal and amazes me that the time, money and effort someone like yourself put in and yes i think yours is stunning but as time went on the bikes got more bling , so maybe there should be votes made and awarded 4 pre 1980s , 1980 s and 1990s to date

JimmyP I love your Ruffel Rep, attention to detail is amazing, I love that you've built the bike he's seen riding on that brochure cover rather than just a catalogue spec resto, it is sooooooooo sweet.

Think that comp is inferior to the RAd comp in one crucial aspect: you should only be allowed one bike entered in any given category, some of those dudes have like 5 bikes entered in one category. Not ideal, in my opinion.

Personally I'm gonna just stick to RAd and vote here.

when does voting start?

Thanks for the support for the Pro Star it's very much appreciated but it's all subjective this bike building lark. I'm going to shoot myself in the foot perhaps but really with that bike it's a good original example of a factory built model. Where some other builds are custom made by the owner and would have far more personal input into the end result and far more of  labour of love finding the nightmare bits and all credit due.  And some people have more love for survivor bikes where all credit is taken away from a good resto which is a craft in itself. And with some bikes it's just getting a pat on the back for shopping. All subjective and whatever floats your boat. Or you just think fook it if something looks the biz it looks the biz whatever the journey was.
