Silly question time
« on: December 19, 2007, 08:50 PM »
Sorry chaps, please excuse my ignorance, new to this game again.

Ok, bottom bracket size.

I see on E bay and on other sites, that when one is advertised the seller puts in Euro or USA. I'm assuming they are both different sizes. Are all BMX bottom brackets on a frames the same size ?? So would a USA bottom bracket fit into a standard BMX?? or is it just the cranks that have too match the said bottom bracket.

Have i explained myself correctly, i think i've just confused myself big time now.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

different frames take different style bottom brackets.
you will need to check what type yours takes.
i believe the old style is the US BB, but now you also have Mid, Euro & Spanish.

This is a cool site, and if you scroll down a bit there is a big section all about BBs. I dont totally agree with what he concludes but it shows all the sizes nicely.
