i've had a blow torch on it..everything.
i've plastered it with 3/1 oil...
i'll try a big bar next.

the whole job was going so well... :santa_angry:

i'm gonna scrap the crappy plasic pedals anyway...so i don't care if i wreck 'em.

Derv is the answer.

Have to agree with the Orbster, soak in derv for a day or 2.

after applying derv, strip the pedal so you just have the shaft left exposed.

Grip the shaft TIGHTLY in a vice and then rotate the crank.

Like lazychubs said make sure you are turning them the right way, one pedal is left handed thread and one is right handed thread  :idiot2: :idiot2:
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

bang the end of the pedal with a hammer to loosen any rust in the shaft, then you will have to use a bike shop spanner which is 5 times longer than your normal spanner for leverage, dont forget the right hand turns anti & the left clockwise when loosening.

the left hand pedal is opposite thread. the right is regular.

no pedal can argue with a big spanner and a knockometer

i'd eat my own c0ck before i found a pedal i couldnt undo  :D

there may be some truth in that....!
it's still in there...soaking - winding me up everytime i look at it.
the 1 pc crank is looking pretty rough - but then i don't really want to spend too much on the whole "project".
just get the forks frame and bars powder coated and new decals, new chain, new grips..oh and tyres.

it should look pretty good.

i guess the main thing is that i'll have an old school ride.

i've cleansed the front mag in the sink (misses not happy)..and gave it a rub with autoglym bumber care...it's come up nice.

i got a nice haro one piece crank with pedals & bearings for a tenner off ebay for mine (new).. i'll post you some pics this week, try your local bike shop or garage for a giant spanner to get them off, if that fails just cut the thing off & get a new one.. also if your looking at painting the frame try your local car spray shop & ask when he is painting a car to spray your frame with the left over paint, a cheap & good option...

wise words mate...
esp the car spray shop..
so does that mean that i don't 'have' to go for the powder coat option?
i just figured that a regular spray wouldn't do the job (having read stuff on this forum)

ebay is cool for bike parts, i just didn't realise that it'd be so competetive..
i'm on the brink of winning some tange grips for £5..fingers crossed  :)

i've got the pedals off - with maximum of fuss...
the derv worked although i did put a blow torch on it - i then managed to unscrew it.

so the i pc crank is out - what's the deal with the cup things that the bearings meet in the hole where the crank was??
do they come out? i guess they must..

how do i get them out?

i think i'm being too much of a fanny about this...i afraid that i'll damage the frame if I hit it too hard.
