when handlebars are described they state for example 7 inch rise and 25.5 inches
i take it 7 inch rise is the total height of the bars and the 25.5 is the total width ?
if some one could clarify this for me that would be great

Remember those measurements are centre to centre for height.
In bar speak 8 X 28 is equivelent to 44.16 in gearing!
