pro burner-some advice please!
« on: December 02, 2005, 09:35 PM »
Ok folks this could be my first restoration project been offered a pro burner but its gonna cost me £100 to get it, original frame, forks, wheels, stem, crank etc the only problem i can see is hairline cracks in the plates that are welded on where the top tube and down tube meet at the headset, im not really up on costs of original components, re-chroming and value of the old bikes in general so would appreciate some feedback from y'all, good buy or leave it alone, what do think folks? thanks  Ricky

I suppose anything can be fixed, but at a cost. Personally stay away from cracks and rewelds. Avoid dents if you're gonna rechrome it, not so bad if you are powdercoating.

to be fair the parts NOS is gonna be hard to  get as they are pretty expensive / impossible to get , but a great project and some have been done so parts lists would be easy to get, i can give you a few pointers , i have had 2
