An all-black pedigree sire rex cat.

And a raw TRM Freestyler

Here it is, back from chrome. Nice work Doug Taylor Metal Finishers - Weston Super Mare.

Oh, and the Oscar winning shot, 'a la Flanelcamel'

What do you think? Sorry about shite picture quality

I hope you`ve got kids looking at that table cloth lol

Bling job on the frame too
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

Is that frame not missing a few gussety type bits on the twin top tubes?  You know, the bits where you could put your ice cream cones?

Looks very , very bling though - top job on the chroming :daumenhoch:

It's good. I got them to spend a fair amount of extra time (paid) with the polishing before it was chromed, so it would take better.  And only the richer kids round our way had the ice cream holders welded on [grin] There's a picture of an awesome Quad in reception at the chromers, that belong to any of you guys?

Very nice, how much did the chroming cost?

I paid £250 but that was for the Monkeybars too plus the extra polishing time. My original quote was £160 frame and bars.

Nice, nice, nice.  Doug Taylors rocks.

That Quad, was it a new school chromed one?  If so it was mine, they took pictures of it and also I sent them pictures of it.

awesome mate! Can you post up the chromers details in the tech and resto section mate if he is that good. I like it that he has the time to polish the frame up nice before hand. Shows he cares. Ive always wanted a TRM. Totally Radical Machine! How corny but how cool. Sweet. You know who wants it if you get rid. lol

That is fantastic mate !

Doug is a top chromer - his details are already in the resto section - I reckon me and Sean should be on commission with Doug !

This is volume 1, issue 3 (for us anoraks) of Freestyle BMX. The man himself, Mr. Andy Preston (with Mike too) tested the TRM for Stechford cycles in Birmingham. On the advice of the guys (after they'd thrown the bike around for a while), the frame dynamics were altered so that the BB was higher off the ground by an extra inch. I think they threw the bike together with parts that they had in the van! This was in June 1984. My 13th birthday was in June 1984 and I  got my first TRM. I built it almost exactly as in the mag except I had tuffs back and front and freewheel not coaster. I even put comp 111 on the back and a kenda whitewall on front. Enjoy...

I've managed to build this bike again, mostly with nos parts too, it makes me grin like a fookin Cheshire cat. Would have bunged it up for build of the year but the decals aren't going to be ready in time  :-[ I'll post it up when it's finished. Thanks for bein interested you guys :daumenhoch:

Great stuff, yep that bike has no ice cream holders on it either  :LolLolLolLol:

It's really great when you match your build to something from bitd rather than just pulling together a heap of nice parts - I think it adds to the quality and gives a good reference point.  I've done similar with my Scorpion but not with my other builds, on those I've tried to set a period and match the parts to those available at that time a sort of this is what I might  bought or might have bought if funds were available.

Can't wait to see pics of it built up - decals or no decals  :daumenhoch:.

It's almost finished. It might just get in for the 20th! Shame the quad's not ready because that looks the nuts. Got a pair of Beats on the way too - Ruff Rep and my own custom stylee (yes, another Ruff Rep  ???) Well... i had the bits.
