Bought this from a fellow rad member (thx Russ). Used to race back in the day, sold my original for £40 !!! anyway after many years away from the sport - i saw a flyer on the net advertising the new 2007 raleigh team aero burner. well i had to have one as it was one of the bikes i hadn't actually owned.

At the time i didn't realize there was even an old school scene! After taking delivery of the Burner i immediately got those what if i changed the cranks, bars etc feeling - well after a lot of ebaying and finally finding the Burner Forums and RAD i just got totally hooked.

I originally went after a white UNI turbo seat on the bay and found this one fitted to the GT, after much communication and piggy bank raiding i decided i just had to have the GT (was always my fav race bike).

Once i received the bike i decided i wanted to get some z rims fitted - couldn't afford any NOS ones - so i decided to get some old battered ones and restore them - this lead to a complete rebuild and teaching myself how to lace and true wheels!!!

Decided to completely strip and rebuild the GT, mirror polishing anything that i could. Bought some old MX1000's and reconditioned them - polished the living daylights out of anything that would sparkle - had sore fingers for weeks!

I love this bike and despite it being a carpet queen - it gets a regular thrashing - hoping to get to the track in 2008 and get back into racing.

spec list

Frame - 84 GT Pro
Forks - Tange!
Handlebars - Robinson Pro
Stem - DK Pro
Grips - Ame Tri
Levers - Dia - Compe Tech 3
Headset - Odessey Sealled
Cranks - GT Pro

Seat - UNI Turbo
Seatpost Clamp - Suntour
Wheels - Z Rims - Suzie Sealed Hubs

Hi y'all
This is the first time I have posted so I thought I would start with a bike entry. Awesome site and some great looking bikes. Was going to enter my 83 pk ripper but there are already some good ones so I have gone for something slightly less high profile but fairly unique in this comp. My 84 Falcon Pro Omega:

original dia compe mx900 brakes
The rest is NOS:
neco gold headset
win 'CW' pro bars
shimano sx gold/chrome levers
dia compe cables
tri ame grips
ukai early 80s gold rims with suntour hubs and gold ashai spokes
tioga comp III tyres
Tioga/takagi 180mm crank
tioga/takagi gold spider
tioga/takagi gold 44 chainring
KKT gold pedals
suntour gold seatpost clamp
odyssey seatpost with cw decal
Jaguar aero seat
Falcon pro padset.

I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

All of these bikes are amazing. It made my morning just browsing through them. Some of them brought back great memories of when I was a kid.

A special mention for Maurice's TA. It is so cool to see that bike restored. A true classic.

Merry Christmas everyone.
